Reactive Power Balance and Voltage Control
1997Economic considerations have generally resulted in short-term generation unit commitment practices and trading procedures placing considerable emphasis on scheduling active power to meet system demands. Voltage control is usually managed as a second step in the operation of the power system.

Power Balance for Voltage-controlled PV Generator without Robust Voltage Source
2019 10th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE 2019 - ECCE Asia), 2019Voltage control mode is preferable because of better bus voltage support and low reliance on communication. However, that is difficult to implement on photovoltaic inverter without robust voltage source. Meanwhile, photovoltaic arrays have some power management ability that usually neglected due to the use of MPPT, which in fact damages balanced power ...

Voltage Balance and Energy Balance in an Electrolytic Cell
1985Electrolytic current will flow from the anode to the cathode in electrolytic solution in a cell by means of transport of both cations and anions to the respective directions of the electric field. The mechanism of conduction in electrolytic solution differs from that in a metallic conductor in which free electrons move in the inverse direction of flow ...

A New Nine-Level Voltage Source Inverter with Capacitor Voltage Balancing
IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018In this paper, a new nine-level voltage source inverter for medium-voltage high-power applications is proposed. The proposed topology is a combination of the active nested neutral-point clamped inverter and the flying capacitor inverter. A carrier-based sinusoidal pulse width modulation scheme is developed to balance the voltage of the flying ...

Balanced voltage sag & swell compensation by using dynamic voltage restorer
2016 IEEE 1st International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems (ICPEICES), 2016To mitigate voltage disturbances in low voltage distribution system dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) with energy storage device is used in this paper. DVR is installed between supply and load which will inject voltage and active power to the distribution system during balanced voltage sag and swell disturbances.

AC Voltage Measurements in UME Kibble Balance
2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM), 2020Kibble Balance operating in National Metrology Institute of Turkey poses the advantage of testing Faraday's Law of Induction and Ampere's Law of Force in a single phase. Apart from many distinctive advantages of single phase measurement scheme, there is a tolerable disadvantage: AC Faraday's voltage induced by an oscillating magnet across the ends of ...

Voltage Recovery after Unbalanced and Balanced Voltage Dip in Three-Phase Systems
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002This paper studies the recovery of the voltage after a voltage dip due to a fault in a three-phase system. The instant of voltage recovery corresponds to the instant of fault clearing. For single-phase and phase-to-phase faults, a single point-on-wave of voltage recovery can be defined. For two-phase-to-ground and three-phase faults, the recovery takes

Active voltage balancement of series connected IGBTs
IAS '95. Conference Record of the 1995 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Thirtieth IAS Annual Meeting, 2002Series connection of IGBT devices is a standard solution in high voltage power conversion applications, such as color TV deflections, inverters for medium voltage lines or modern railway traction drives. In serial connections of IGBTs, a suitable voltage balance must be guaranteed either at steady state or during switching transients in order to avoid ...

Submodule voltage balancing in modular multilevel converter
International Conference on Circuits, Communication, Control and Computing, 2014The Modular Multilevel converter (MMC) is the most promising variant of Multilevel converter topologies for High voltage applications such as High Voltage Direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, Flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) and Motor drives. The most challenging issue in the operation of MMC is the Sub-Module (SM) voltage balancing. The

Capacitor voltage balancing in modular multilevel converters
6th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2012), 2012A universal capacitor voltage control method for converters built from series connected modules is presented. It fully exploits both the circulating currents and the common-mode voltage without affecting the phase current control. The controllability of the capacitor voltages in various such converters is investigated.
