The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A Novel Low-Power Bipolar DC–DC Converter with Voltage Self-Balancing

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications
Bipolar power supply can effectively reduce line losses and optimize power transmission. This paper proposes a low-power bipolar DC–DC converter with voltage self-balancing, which not only achieves bipolar output but also automatically balances the inter-

A DAB Converter with Common-Point-Connected Winding Transformers Suitable for a Single-Phase 5-Level SST System

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
One of the main disadvantages of the multi-level solid-state transformer (SST) system is the voltage imbalance on the output of the rectifier modules.

Submodule power losses balancing algorithms for the modular multilevel converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Tolerance and component aging can cause signif¬icant differences in the capacitance values of the submodules (SMs) in a modular multilevel converter (MMC).

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Characteristics of Single-Phase Voltage-Doubler Rectifier with Balanced Capacitor Voltages

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 2001
A single-phase voltage-doubler rectifier, which has two auxiliary bidirectional switches, is studied. The proposed rectifier has the advantages that the imbalance of the voltages across the capacitors, connected in series, is minimized independent of the working conditions and the discharge of capacitors is adjusted by arranging two auxiliary ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
