Wave Function Collapse in a Mesoscopic Device

open access: yes, 2005
We determine the non-local in time and space current-current cross correlator $$ in a mesoscopic conductor with a scattering center at the origin. Its excess part appearing at finite voltage exhibits a unique dependence on the retarded variable $t_1-t_2-(

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

L-Index-Based Technique for Voltage Collapse Prediction and Voltage Stability Enhancement in Electrical Power Systems

open access: yesABUAD Journal of Engineering Research and Development
Recent years have witnessed a notable increase in the occurrence of blackouts, especially in developing nations, attributed to the continuously growing demand on modern power networks.

Voltage Stability Index Calculation by Hybrid State Estimation Based on Multi Objective Optimal Phasor Measurement Unit Placement

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Operation of a power system close to the voltage stability limit due to increasing of load demand and limited power sources may result in disastrous economic loss with voltage collapse of the entire power system.

Cascade Failure in a Phase Model of Power Grids

open access: yes, 2012
We propose a phase model to study cascade failure in power grids composed of generators and loads. If the power demand is below a critical value, the model system of power grids maintains the standard frequency by feedback control.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

Identification of voltage collapse point in self excited induction generator [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2009
This paper presents a direct equilibrium tracing method for identifying the voltage collapse point of a self-excitedinduction generator (SEIG) without many trials.

Unusual conductance collapse in one-dimensional quantum structures

open access: yes, 2004
We report an unusual insulating state in one-dimensional quantum wires with a non-uniform confinement potential. The wires consist of a series of closely spaced split gates in high mobility GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures.
