A shunt active harmonic filter based on a voltage detection method for harmonic voltage control
2004 IEEE International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation, Restructuring and Power Technologies. Proceedings, 2004With the proliferation of electronic equipment in modern buildings, harmonics in low voltage distribution systems have received a great deal of attention. This paper discusses harmonic voltage control using a shunt active harmonic filter based on a voltage detection method. The control method is discussed first.

Six-pulse converter atypical harmonics caused by second harmonic voltage
10th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.02EX630), 2004This paper reports the orders and levels of atypical harmonics caused by the second harmonic voltage. Two basic types of 6-pulse converters are discussed: The L-filter (current source rectifier) and the C-filter (voltage source rectifier). The response of these converters to symmetrical nonsinusoidal voltage distorted by positive- and negative-sequence

Superposition of current and voltage harmonics
2018 ELEKTRO, 2018This paper deals with power quality that is aimed on voltage and current harmonics. The analysis describes the household appliances producing the harmonic interference, because they consist of semiconductor components. The next reason is that a large number of household appliances are operated in the same time.

Harmonics in voltage-source PWM inverters
International Journal of Electronics, 1981he performance of an induction motor fed by PWM inverters is mainly determined by the harmonic contents of the output voltage. This paper presents a method of numerically calculating the harmonics in the output voltage waveform. Equal pulse-width modulation and siunsoidal PWM are studied.

Harmonic study in electromagnetic voltage transformers
2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012Ferroresonance is a complex electrical phenomenon which may cause overvoltages and overcurrents in electrical power system disturbing the system reliability and continuous safe operating. The ability to predict or confirm ferroresonance depends primarily on the accuracy of the voltage transformer model used in the computer simulation. In this study, at

Instantaneous line voltage controlled harmonics compensator
2000 26th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 2000. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control and Instrumentation. 21st Century Technologies and Industrial Opportunities (Cat. No.00CH37141), 2002We propose a line voltage harmonic compensator for the distribution line voltage distortion and the nonlinear load harmonic current by using a simple shunt active filter with series inductances. The instantaneous terminal voltages of the common supply line are controlled to the sinusoidal waveforms by the instantaneous compensation current.

Voltage and current harmonics caused by corona
Journal of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1921THE FOLLOWING investigation was made to study the effects of corona in producing voltage and current harmonics in transmission systems. In the early work on corona in 1910 a very complete oscillographic study was made of voltage and current. It was found that the current wave of corona loss very much resembled the excitation current wave of a ...

Boundary control of dynamic voltage restorers in voltage harmonic compensation
2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is used to provide load voltage support and protect sensitive load during voltage sags situation. However, voltage sags do not appear frequently and hence the utilization of the DVR is low. In order to increase the utilization of the DVR, the DVR should operate to compensate any load voltage instability especially the ...
