Instantaneous line voltage controlled harmonics compensator

2000 26th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 2000. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control and Instrumentation. 21st Century Technologies and Industrial Opportunities (Cat. No.00CH37141), 2002
We propose a line voltage harmonic compensator for the distribution line voltage distortion and the nonlinear load harmonic current by using a simple shunt active filter with series inductances. The instantaneous terminal voltages of the common supply line are controlled to the sinusoidal waveforms by the instantaneous compensation current.

High voltage passive harmonic filter design

The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011, 2011
This paper presents a developed graphic user interface (GUI)-based program for high-voltage passive harmonic filter design. The developed program composes of four modules: load flow analysis, harmonic analysis, passive harmonic filter design, and capacitor bank design.

Voltage and current harmonics caused by corona

Journal of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1921
THE FOLLOWING investigation was made to study the effects of corona in producing voltage and current harmonics in transmission systems. In the early work on corona in 1910 a very complete oscillographic study was made of voltage and current. It was found that the current wave of corona loss very much resembled the excitation current wave of a ...

Boundary control of dynamic voltage restorers in voltage harmonic compensation

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is used to provide load voltage support and protect sensitive load during voltage sags situation. However, voltage sags do not appear frequently and hence the utilization of the DVR is low. In order to increase the utilization of the DVR, the DVR should operate to compensate any load voltage instability especially the ...

Harmonic considerations on low voltage systems

[Proceedings] IEEE 1991 Annual Textile, Fiber and Film Industry Technical Conference, 2002
Guidelines are developed for applying capacitors and harmonic-producing loads on low-voltage systems. The subject is approached from a systems point of view for low voltage applications, emphasizing the system interaction effects and the means that can be used to minimize this interaction.

High voltage test circuit for harmonic and impulse voltage stress

2015 16th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2015
The paper deals with testing possibilities of discharge activity influence to a medium voltage cable system. It was observed that the discharge activity in insulation systems of high voltage devices is higher when the power electronic is present. The aim is to create a test circuit which will simulate the influence of superposed impulses and harmonics ...

Research on Harmonic Voltage Measurement Accuracy Based on AC Quantum Voltage

2020 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM), 2020
In this paper, factors affecting harmonic measurement accuracy were analyzed, which is based on AC quantum voltage. Two factors, the non-integer period sampling and the number of steps, that influence the harmonic measurement are identified. The sensitivity of each influential factor is verified by experiments.

Harmonic Droop Controller to Reduce the Voltage Harmonics of Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2013
In this paper, the load and/or grid connected to an inverter is modeled as the combination of voltage sources and current sources at harmonic frequencies. As a result, the system can be analyzed at each individual frequency, which avoids the difficulty in defining the reactive power for a system with different frequencies because it is now defined at ...

Influence of Harmonic System Voltages on the Harmonic Current Emission of Photovoltaic Inverters

2007 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2007
Harmonic currents of photovoltaic (PV)-inverters show a significant dependency on the harmonic voltage content of the alternating current (AC)-system voltage. Measurements of harmonic currents were carried out in low-voltage (LV)-systems and under laboratory test conditions with adjustable harmonic content of the AC-voltage.

Intelligent solid-state voltage restorer for voltage swell/sag and harmonics

IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2004
Voltage swell/sag along with extended undervoltage conditions and voltage harmonics are of vital concern to the majority of industries today. A neural network control method for the problems of voltage sag/swell and harmonics is proposed. A novel topology of the AC-AC boost converter solves the problems of voltage swell/sag, while a voltage controlled ...
