14th IEE Microwave Measurements Training Course, 2005
The majority of signal amplitude or level measurements made at RF and microwave frequencies are measurements of power rather than voltage. Voltage measuring instruments such as RF millivoltmeters are still in frequent use but are nowadays less common than in the past.

Electrical Engineering, 1948
A SIMPLE METHOD for accurately measuring voltages present on high-voltage systems during both transient and steady-state conditions without modifying the conditions producing the voltage to be measured has been developed.

Transient Voltage Measurement Techniques
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1968Transient voltages which occur in the circuits to protective relays and control devices have been known to wreck semiconductor components used in these circuits. Investigations have been conducted to determine the nature, cause, and magnitudes of these transient voltages.

Turboalternator shaft voltage measurements
2012 IEEE International Workshop on Applied Measurements for Power Systems (AMPS) Proceedings, 2012This paper presents the results of shaft voltages measurement campaign undertaken to investigate the sources of unrecoverable temperature drift observed on the thrust bearing of a small industrial steam turbine of a turbogenerator installed in a cogeneration biomass thermal power station.

High Voltage Measurements at Niagara
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1908In the autumn of 1896, the writer of this paper undertook an investigation of the phenomena existing when transmission line conductors are subjected to high alternating voltages. The work was carried on near Telluride, Colorado, and extended over a period of about a year. The results of this work were embodied in a report made by the writer in 1897.

ABSOLUTE measurements of high voltages, up to about 300 kilovolts, have been carried out by various workers using instruments of the attracted disk type, as originally devised by Lord Kelvin, in which the electrostatic deflecting force on the disk is balanced by mechanical means.

Intercomparison of ac peak voltage measurement
11th International Symposium on High-Voltage Engineering (ISH 99), 1999An intercomparison on the measurement of high voltage peak value has been carried out between the National Metrology Institutes of Sweden and Germany in 1995 and between Finland and Sweden in 1996. The results show a very satisfactory agreement between the participants. It seems that part of the discrepancies found may be due to the loose definition of

Voltage and current measurements
1990The difficulties associated with voltage and current measurements increase with frequency and most voltmeters and ammeters are restricted to the region below 1 GHz [1-4]. Above 1 GHz voltages and currents in transmission lines can be deduced from a knowledge of the power flowing in the line, the characteristic impedance, and the reflection coefficient ...
