Magnetic voltage regulator using current mode control
1987 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1987The magnetic regulator circuit described herein utilizes saturable reactors as a means for controlling the output current and voltage in an electrical power converter. The operational characteristics of this type of regulator are very similar to the functional behaviors of "switch-mode" regulators. The basic regulation scheme is illustrated in Figure 2.

Bus Voltage Control of DC Microgrid using Sliding Mode Control
2018 3rd IEEE International Conference on Recent Trends in Electronics, Information & Communication Technology (RTEICT), 2018The world is witnessing tremendous growth in the contribution of renewable energy sources (RES) to meet the power demand. Continuous development and decreasing costs of renewable energy technology and semiconductor devices can be considered as key players behind this. With power semiconductor devices supporting efficient power conversion, DC compatible

Indirect Sliding Mode Voltage Control of Buck Converter
2020 8th International Conference on Smart Grid (icSmartGrid), 2020The design of DC-DC step-down converter employing sliding mode strategy with Proportional-integral (PI) controller is discussed in this work. The control method uses the inductor current error as a sliding surface followed by a PI controller to regulate the output voltage.

Terminal Sliding Mode Controller for Voltage Control of Island Microgrid
2019 27th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2019This paper proposes a robust method for voltage control of an island Microgrid. An island microgrid is a localized group of electricity sources and sinks (loads) that typically operates disconnected from the traditional centralized grid (macrogrid), and maintains operation autonomously as physical and/or economic conditions dictate.

Adaptive voltage positioning with average current mode control
2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013This paper investigates the adoption of average current mode control to achieve adaptive voltage positioning for low voltage, high current step down voltage regulators. Analytical results are first presented followed by experimental and simulation verification to validate the theoretical study with good correlation.

Chaos in voltage-mode controlled DC drive systems
International Journal of Electronics, 1999Remarkably complex behaviour, namely chaos, in voltage-mode controlled DC drive systems has been investigated. An iterative mapping that describes the nonlinear system dynamics in the continuous conduction mode is derived. It shows that different bifurcation diagrams can be obtained from different system parameters, and that the systems generally ...

The incremental voltage control mode for PWM regulators
PESC '88 Record., 19th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2003The possibility of direct connections in parallel and inherent overload protection, which are typical advantages of current-controlled pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) regulators, are obtained by another control technique that is based on the sensing of the voltage waveform across a capacitor ( Delta V mode).

Voltage-Mode control of Hybrid Switched Capacitor Converters
IECON 2006 - 32nd Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2006In this paper analysis and controller design of a voltage-mode controlled of hybrid switched capacitor converter is presented. The state-space averaging method is applied to formulate the small-signal models, valid up-to half of the switching frequency, of the converter and a loop gain is adapted to design the voltage-mode feedback compensation. Decentralized Sliding Mode voltage control in DC microgrids
2017 American Control Conference (ACC), 2017The present paper deals with the design of a decentralized control scheme that relies on advanced control strategies of Sliding Mode (SM) type to regulate the voltage in islanded Direct Current (DC) microgrids. More specifically, the model of an islanded DC microgrid composed of several Distributed Generation units (DGus) interconnected according to an

Complex Intermittency in Voltage-Mode Controlled Buck Converter
2006 CES/IEEE 5th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2006Intermittency are commonly observed by practicing power supply engineers in their design workbenches. It shows to be a symmetrical period-doubling bifurcation in time domain with fixed long intermittent period. Sometimes it is called "breathing".
