Research on a Novel Dynamic Voltage Quality Regulator in Medium Voltage
2009 International Conference on Energy and Environment Technology, 2009In accordance with the familiar power quality problem, such as voltage sag, flicker, harmonic suppression and short circuit fault, this paper designed a novel series voltage quality regulator in medium voltage for the multiple objective control basing on the cascaded multilevel H-bridge method, and analysis its working principle in detail.

Adaptive filtering for voltage quality control in industrial system
1999 IEEE Africon. 5th Africon Conference in Africa (Cat. No.99CH36342), 2003The active compensation of voltage fluctuations in industrial subsystems is considered. A solution based on an adaptive control of a fullbridge rectifier is proposed to compensate voltage fluctuations at supplying busbars. The controller is realized on an adaptive filtering scheme, which allows a real-time identification of the voltage disturbance.

Voltage Quality Improvement Using DVR
2010 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information, Telecommunication and Computing, 2010The problem of voltage sags and Swells and its severe impact on sensitive loads is well known. To solve this problem, custom power devices are used. One of those devices is the Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR), which is one of the most efficient and effective modern custom power devices used in power distribution networks.

A novel voltage quality monitoring system
2004 IEEE International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation, Restructuring and Power Technologies. Proceedings, 2004With the advent of electricity deregulation, the power quality of electricity supply is getting more and more concern. Customers prefers to have a good electricity supply. In this paper, a novel voltage monitoring system based on a compact microprocessor module is presented.

Voltage quality in urban and rural areas
2012 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2012The number of power distribution user networks feeding energy efficient equipment is growing. The situation is becoming even more complex with the introduction of distributed generation. The network connects non-linear electronic loads, as well as sources.

Voltage quality improvement in distribution networks
2007 9th International Conference on Electrical Power Quality and Utilisation, 2007This paper is presented by Chilectra, a subsidiary of the Endesa Group Spain and the biggest electric utility in Chile. It sets out a methodology for estimating and determining control parameters for the voltage quality to be delivered to its end customers. The methodology is able to estimate the voltage at each end customer location in the low voltage

Improved voltage quality through advances in voltage control techniques
7th International Conference on Developments in Power Systems Protection (DPSP 2001), 2001It is incumbent upon power utilities to maintain customers' supplies within specified parameters under varying conditions of load. In the vast majority of cases, the last point at which the power utility can influence the voltage is the on-load tap-changer (OLTC).

Voltage quality bounds of multilevel converters
2012 IEEE International Energy Conference and Exhibition (ENERGYCON), 2012Multilevel converters feature a staircase voltage waveform, resulting in a high voltage quality. By a practical time domain approach, upper and lower bounds of the voltage quality can be derived as closed form analytical expressions. The voltage quality bounds are introduced for single- and three-phase converters with an arbitrary number of voltage ...

Influence of voltage stability in power quality
2010 9th IEEE/IAS International Conference on Industry Applications - INDUSCON 2010, 2010Simulations and analysis of voltage stability and its influence on power quality are presented in this article. The voltage stability concern to the capacity of the power system to maintain an appropriate voltage profile, both in normal operation and in the event of severe disruption.
