In this paper a new voltage reference circuit concept is introduced. The presented voltage reference circuit is especially useful for low power applications. The reference circuit has two modes: the high accuracy and the low power mode. During the high accuracy mode the energy consumption is much higher than during the low power mode where accuracy is ...

Impact of Reference Voltage on the ELDRS Characteristics of the LM4050 Shunt Voltage Reference
2011 IEEE Radiation Effects Data Workshop, 2011Two different reference voltage options (2.5V and 5.0V) of National Semiconductor's LM4050WGxxRLQV shunt voltage reference were put through Total Ionizing Dose (TID) testing at High Dose Rate (HDR) and Low Dose Rate (LDR) with different biasing conditions during irradiation and showed different sensitivities to the different dose rates and bias ...

Voltage references for ultra-low supply voltages
2008 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, 2008The majority of integrated voltage references have, so far, been limited to a minimum supply voltage above 0.7-V often due to the voltage headroom required for the forward-biased operation of a PN-junction. This paper reviews design techniques for low voltage reference design and explores the feasibility of designing a voltage reference with a supply ...

A Subthreshold Voltage Reference with Coarse- Fine Voltage Trimming
2021 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2021This paper presents a self-biased subthreshold voltage reference with several types of trimming options. A current trim is used to achieve similar currents across process corners. A coarse/fine voltage trim was implemented, which utilized different Vth's of the process as well as the reverse short-channel effect.

Voltage Reference modification
Electronics and Communications, 2013Adaptation algorithm for saturation sensor of the n-p-n vertical output transistor model is proposed. This model algorithm implies convergence measuring natural IC results and complex (output transistor) + (sensor transistor) modeling. Critical model parameters are reveals and necessity of the error model average is proposed due to high non ideal ...

MEMS-Based AC Voltage Reference
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2005An ac root-mean-square (RMS) voltage reference based on a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) component is presented. The device stability is investigated in various experiments. A time stability at a level of a few µV/V in 24 h was measured using an accelerometer MEMS component at an operating frequency of 100 kHz.

A method for developing a reference voltage in CMOS integrated circuits is described. The circuit uses MOS devices operating in the weak inversion region, as well as a bipolar device formed without process modifications. A brief description of this region of operation is given. Then, the principle of the suggested voltage reference is explained and the

Using the Pull-In Voltage as Voltage Reference
2001The reproducibility of the pull-in voltage of a single side clamped free-standing beam has been investigated for application as a DC voltage reference. A 2 mm long beam has been fabricated in an epipoly process with, at the tip, poly-poly electrodes extending into the axial direction for electrostatic lateral deflection and a comb-drive operating in ...

Precise sources of e.m.f have existed mainly in three forms: the electrolytic cell, the gas-discharge tube and the avalanche or Zener diode. The paper attempts to place these various voltage-reference devices in historical and technical perspective. The properties of several types of cell are given, followed by a similar treatment of glow-discharge and
