This paper presents a low-ripple voltage tripler charge-pump intended to provide a stable supply voltage to the cascaded circuits, thus allowing relaxed design specifications of the latter. The structure, which is implemented by means of an array of charge pump modules sequentially enabled, was developed for a phase-change memory (PCM) device, but it ...

Reduction of voltage drop and ripple in voltage multipliers
2015 17th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'15 ECCE-Europe), 2015In this paper we present a novel topology for high voltage generation based on the widely used Half-Wave Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier. The proposed topology consists of several voltage multiplying sections fed separately at their inputs and whose output voltages are summated across the load. Using the proposed topology we can attain over m times

A Low Ripple Current Mode Voltage Doubler
2015 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Design and Diagnostics of Electronic Circuits & Systems, 2015Experimental results of a fully integrated low ripple charge pump voltage converter are presented. The pump is a current mode voltage doubler with a novel parasitic capacitance precharge mechanism for output voltage ripple reduction. A prototype of the pump was designed and fabricated in 130 nm CMOS process.

Capacitor Voltage Ripple Minimization in Voltage Source Converter for HVDC Applications
2019 AEIT HVDC International Conference (AEIT HVDC), 2019In this paper an exhaustive study on the effects of the circulating currents in the modular multilevel converter in HVDC applications is presented. In the first part, an analytical study of the converter is reported, with emphasis on the capacitors voltage ripple in presence of different circulating currents.

Ripple voltage and its elimination in low voltage power supply
2012 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE), 2012This paper shows the simulation results of the effects of phase difference on the output ripple voltage of a low voltage power supply circuit. The circuit uses a rectifier circuit which adds the squares of two out-of-phase sine waves. The circuit focuses on the constraint of rectifying a low voltage input AC source while analyzing the ripple voltage in

DC link voltage ripple of voltage-source active rectifiers
2016 17th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2016The paper deals with the DC link voltage ripple of voltage-source active rectifiers switched by PWM. The DC link voltage is maintained constant by a converter control; it fluctuates around the desired value. Therefore the first part of the paper describes the influence of voltage-source active rectifier parameters on the DC link voltage ripple.

This paper presents a general analytical method of the dc-link voltage ripple to facilitate the dc-link capacitor design for the three phase voltage source converters (VSCs) under harmonic ac currents. The expressions of the dc-link low order harmonic (LOH) voltages and switching harmonic voltages (SRVs) are derived, respectively.

Capacitor voltage ripple minimization in modular multilevel converters
2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015Modular multilevel converters provide high power quality, high reliability and flexible voltage and power scalability. However, large capacitor voltage ripple is one of the main drawbacks of this topology. This ripple reduces the capacitor lifetime and, due to the large capacitance required to limit it, increases the size and cost of the converter.
