A CMOS ripple detector for integrated voltage regulator testing

2015 IEEE 58th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2015
This paper will present an RMS based ripple sensor for testing of fully integrated voltage regulators. A DC signal which is proportional to the input ripple amplitude is generated. Final digital pass/fail signal is obtained with a clocked comparator. The sensor can detect a peak-to-peak ripple voltage of up to 50 millivolts on the 1.2 volts supply rail

Evaluation of DC voltage ripple in three-phase PWM voltage source inverters

2017 IEEE 26th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2017
Determination of dc-link voltage switching ripple in three-phase PWM voltage source inverters (VSI) is important for the selection and design of the dc-link capacitor. In this paper the complete analysis of the dc-link voltage ripple is given for three-phase PWM VSIs, in case of dc source impedance and balanced load.

Ripple Voltage Mitigation for Multilevel SSBC STATCOM

2020 IEEE 9th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2020-ECCE Asia), 2020
Performance of multilevel single-star bridge-cell (SSBC) STATCOM is affected by the low-frequency oscillation in the dc capacitors’ voltages which is originated due to the double line frequency component on the absorbed active power. To avoid using big capacitors to limit this oscillation.

Photovoltaic inverter with power decoupling ripple-port for DC voltage ripple minimization

2017 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC), 2017
A single-phase photovoltaic inverter presents a double line frequency voltage ripple which means it needs a bulky capacitor for reducing this issue, however, it causes power density decreases. The approach of this paper is to obtain high conversion efficiency, using film capacitors instead of the electrolytic capacitors in order to minimize double-line-

Voltage and Current Ripple in Rectifier Systems

IEEE Transactions on Applications and Industry, 1963
In a rectifier system with inductive load circuit the current fluctuations correspond to the time integral of the voltage absorbed by the inductance, while in a circuit with an L-C filter the current ripple is defined by the harmonic composition of the output voltage.

Effective value of direct-voltage ripple

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1961
Rectifiers produce a ripple of the direct-voltage output. Because it has many different shapes, it is hard to describe in simple terms except by the effective (root-mean-square) value of the ripple voltage, giving only one number to designate its magnitude.

Winding scheme to reduce voltage and torque ripples

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
Voltage and torque ripples can reduce control precision and increase vibration and noise in electric vehicles, servo systems, or wind generators. To address this problem, we proposed a novel winding method in which three phase coils are wound around each tooth, with each coil having a different number of turns around a given tooth. The proposed winding

A 80V output voltage boost converter with low voltage ripple for Avalanche Photodiode(APD)

2011 IEEE International Symposium of Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2011
The Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) are widely used in a variety of optical application requiring high sensitivity, such as long-distance optical communication and optical distance measurement, because the APDs can detect the low level light. APDs accompanied with the Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) are utilized on the receiver side in the communication ...

Analysis of DC-Link Voltage Ripple in Voltage Source Inverters without Electrolytic Capacitor

IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018
In this paper, the DC-link voltage ripple is analyzed for an inverter without electrolytic capacitor. As the capacitance density of non-electrolytic capacitors are significantly lower than electrolytic capacitors, for a non-electrolytic capacitor based three-phase inverter, the DC-link voltage ripple is much higher than traditional inverter, which will

Voltage Ripple of Electrode Sensor in Electrolyte Flow

Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2018
Voltage ripple of electrode sensor that moves relative to electrolyte (flow noise) is interpreted in agreement with experimental data using variations in the adsorption rate of oxygen on the electrode surface upon variations in the thickness of the diffusion layer. A relationship of electrode potential and flow velocity jumps is derived.
