Burden resistor selection in current transformers for low power applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In order to sense AC current with electric isolation in high frequency switching power converters the most simple and low cost solution is to consider a current transformer with a burden resistor.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Overvoltage Protection for High Frequency High Voltage Power Transformers

open access: yesEletrônica de Potência, 2019
Transformers with high-voltage operation may have undesired behavior due to the effects of their parasitic elements. In power electronics applications, if the primary voltage has harmonics, transformer resonances may be excited, causing high primary ...

Controllable high voltage source having fast settling time [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A high voltage dc stepping power supply for sampling a utilization device such as an electrostatic analyzer has a relatively fast settling time for voltage steps. The supply includes a waveform generator for deriving a low voltage staircase waveform that

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Feasibility Test Based on Insulation, Ratio and Internal Protection for 20 MVA Power Transformer of 150/20 kV Substation

open access: yesAviation Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electricals, Controls
The problems that occur in 20 MVA power transformers are insulation feasibility issues, voltage regulation and internal relay malfunctions. The impact is to cause a degradation of transformer reliability.

Analysis and design of a modular multilevel converter with trapezoidal modulation for medium and high voltage DC-DC transformers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Conventional dual active bridge topologies provide galvanic isolation and soft-switching over a reasonable operating range without dedicated resonant circuits.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
