Passive heat transfer control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Model maintains a preselected temperature in the near vicinity of a variable source of thermal energy. Heat input is controlled by a variable transformer and a voltage drop across the heater is used to calculate power ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Physical simulation of heat exchange between 6(10) kV voltage instrument transformer and its environment with natural convection and insolation

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This study examines the results of thermal tests on a 6(10) kV digital combined current and voltage transformer conducted in an environmental chamber. This measuring instrument consists of current and voltage transformers, featuring a resistive divider ...

On fully superconducting rectifiers and fluxpumps. A review. Part 2: Commutation modes, characteristics and switches [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
This paper forms the second part of the review. Full and half wave superconducting transformer rectifiers are analysed. Modes of operation and loss mechanisms are detailed and a comparison between the behaviour of dynamos and rectifiers is presented ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

The state of the electrical distribution network, that was equipped with the transformer automatic OLTC device, was simulated. The voltage regulation law of the transformer was determined to ensure permissible voltage levels on the buses of transformer ...

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Voltage monitoring system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A description is given of a system for monitoring the voltage at a remote location and determining when the voltage exceeds upper and lower levels. The system includes transmission lines for transmitting the voltage back to a central station and applying

Design of High Voltage Transformer Windings Withstanding Surge Voltages

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Power and Energy, 1999
High voltage windings of high power transformers, have to be designed in such a way as to withstand surge voltages. From this point of view, interleaved windings have the better behaviour, but they are much more expensive with respect to continuous ones.
