Amniotic fluid volume expansion
Current Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1995Expansion of amniotic fluid volume is usually achieved by instillation of sterile fluid into the amniotic cavity by either the transabdominal or transcervical route. However, it has recently been demonstrated that oral hydration of the mother can have the same effect.

Circulatory volume expansion for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
1999Patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage who develop spasm of the cerebral arteries may suffer from delayed cerebral ischaemia. This may be exacerbated by reduced circulatory volume. Intravenous fluid therapy to expand the circulating volume might reduce the risk of delayed cerebral ischaemia and so reduce the risk of neurological disability. The object ...

Determination of volumes by gas expansion
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1986A method of measuring volumes using the classical gas release method is described. It is possible to measure volumes in situ with an accuracy of the order of 10-3.

Cationic Polymerization with Expansion in Volume
Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1975Abstract It is demonstrated that polymerization of bicyclic monomers in which two rings are opened for every new dbond formed in the polymer chain will produce either very small changes in volume or significant expansion.

On negative volume expansion coefficients
Philosophical Magazine, 1958Abstract It is shown that the Gruneisen constant derived from the elastic properties of a solid can be negative in certain cases. The lattice models examined are (a) ionic lattices with the zinc blende structure, (b) ionic lattices with the rocksalt structure.
