Characterisation of the mean and time dependent properties of inclined oilinwater pipe flows using dualsensor probes [PDF]
An array of dualsensor conductance probes, which contains a number of dualsensor probes equispaced across the diameter of an 80mm pipe, is introduced in this paper for characterizing bubbly oilinwater pipe flows inclined at angles from 15 degrees to 60 ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Solid volume fraction estimation of bone: Marrow replica models using ultrasound transit time spectroscopy [PDF]
The acceptance of broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) for the assessment of osteoporosis suffers from a limited understanding of both ultrasound wave propagation through cancellous bone and its exact dependence upon the material and structural ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Stratospheric ozone intrusion over Zagreb, Croatia, on February 6, 1990
On February 6, 1990 at 10.45 UTC the ozone volume fraction in Zagreb at RBI (182 m a.s.l.) suddenly rose from 2 ppb to 100 ppb and remained at unusually high values for another five hours. With a delay of approximately one hour at Puntijarka (which is 10

Tensile Behavior of 3D Printed Specimens by Small Punch Test [PDF]
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the deformation behavior of 3D printed specimens using the small punch tensile test method. Traditional tensile tests for assessing mechanical properties require a significant amount of material to produce ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
