Volume magnification in particle field holography
Applied Optics, 1987An image-object volume relationship in holography for applications in quantitative particle fields is determined in terms of known physical parameters. The general relationships are described for collimated, point reference, or reconstruction sources. Some relevant methods for correlating the transverse magnification at different longitudinal distances

Multidimensional tomographic imaging using volume holography
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1999We propose the application of volume holography to four-dimensional (4-D) spatiospectral imaging. The proposed systems use materials and techniques developed for holographic data storage and interconnections to capture three-dimensional (3-D) spatial and one-dimensional (1-D) spectral information about a remote light source or scatterer.

Space-time processing with photorefractive volume holography
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1999Photorefractive volume holography for processing ultrashort optical pulses carrying spatial, temporal, and spatiotemporal optical information is introduced. These new holographic methods can process temporal information, i.e., the temporal evolution of optical pulse signals, in addition to the usual spatial information.

Organization of data for monochromatic multiplex volume holography
Journal of the Optical Society of America A: Optics and Image Science, and Vision, 1996We derive the relationships for coded wave fronts in volume holography for reference and signal waves coded with two-dimensional wave fronts. We develop estimates for cross talk that is due to grating degeneracy, nonorthogonality, and momentum-mismatch reconstruction.

Transformational volume holography
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2014We analyze the bulk elastic transformation of volume holograms as a general approach for three-dimensional pupil engineering. The physical relationship between transformation and the resulting point spread function is discussed by deriving the corresponding analytical expressions. For affine transformations, an analytical solution is directly possible.

Volume holography-based abrupt autofocusing beam
Applied Optics, 2023Volume holographic elements are excellent at shaping high-quality spatial and spectral modes. Many microscopy and laser–tissue interaction applications require precise delivery of optical energy at specific sites without affecting the peripheral regions.

Coded-wavelength multiplex volume holography
Optics Letters, 1995We introduce the technique of coded-wavelength multiplex holography. We encode each wavelength with a discrete angular spectrum of plane waves, so that the total number of multiplexed holographic pages equals the number of wavelengths multiplied by the number of discrete wave vectors at each wavelength.
