Ethnic Variation in Volumetric Breast Density
2012Volumetric breast density was determined using Quantra TM (Hologic) in 1356 women undergoing routine breast screening. Self-reported ethnicity, age, HRT use, weight and height were also available. 1038 women declared themselves to be White (British or Irish), 71 Black, 77 Asian, 91 Jewish, 31 Mixed Race and 48 Other European.

A New Step-Wedge for the Volumetric Measurement of Mammographic Density
2006The volume of dense breast tissue can be calculated from an x-ray mammogram by imaging a calibrated step-wedge alongside the breast and determining the compressed breast thickness. Previously published work used a step-wedge made of PTFE with a maximum height of 35mm, length 175mm and width 15mm. Although fulfilling all theoretical requirements, it can

Volumetric bone mineral density — a potential role in paediatrics
Acta Paediatrica, 1995The use of areal bone mineral density (aBMD) in paediatric populations has aroused some concern, as it fails to take the age‐related increase in bone thickness into account. We have developed a measure of true bone density, volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD), which is independent of age and height.

Breast Density Estimation: Correlation of Mammographic Density and MR Volumetric Density
2003Studies have demonstrated a strong correlation between mammographic breast density and breast cancer risk. mammographic breast density may therefore be used as a surrogate marker for monitoring the response to treatment in studies of breast cancer prevention or intervention methods.

Volumetric Density of Triangulated Range Images for Face Recognition
2020In this paper, a volumetric space representation of 3D range face image has been established for developing a robust 3D face recognition system. A volumetric space has been created on some distinct triangular regions of the 3D range face image. Further, we have constructed 3D voxels corresponding to those regions for developing voxelization-based 3D ...

Volumetric Bone Mineral Density in Patients with Childhood Craniopharyngioma
Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, 2003As the overall survival rate is high in patients with craniopharyngioma, the prognosis in survivors depends mainly on late effects. Late effects such as hypogonadism, growth hormone deficiency, glucocorticoid overreplacement and obesity have a strong impact on volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD).

This is what volumetric breast density is
2013Learning objectives: To illustrate what volumetric breast density is and how it can be estimated from digital mammograms. To show the results of quantitative breast density measurements on mammography images of 527 patients.

Using Volumetric Breast Density to Quantify the Potential Masking Risk of Mammographic Density
American Journal of Roentgenology, 2017The purposes of this study were to compare BI-RADS density categories with quantitative volumetric breast density (VBD) for the reporting of mammographic sensitivity and to identify which patient factors are most predictive of a diagnosis of interval cancer of the breast versus screen-detected cancer. This retrospective study included screen-detected ...

Effect of Anorexia Nervosa on Volumetric Bone Mineral Density
Calcified Tissue InternationalIt was widely acknowledged that patients with anorexia nervosa (AN) present a decrease in areal bone mineral density (aBMD), but the effect on bone microarchitecture and other parameters associated with fracture risk have been less well investigated. The two aims of this study were to (i) compare aBMD at various bone sites as determined by DXA, as well
