This study identifies platelet‐derived extracellular vesicles as key immunometabolic regulators in COVID‐19. The delivery of tRF‐His‐GTG‐1 to neutrophils activates TLR8mTOR signaling, disrupts lipophagy, and amplifies NET‐mediated inflammation. Importantly, targeting this axis restores neutrophil homeostasis, offering a potential therapeutic strategy ...

Using single‐cell RNA sequencing of lung samples and flow cytometry of peripheral blood, we identified a novel T cell subset with high metallothionein (MT) expression. These MT‐high T cells suppress CD8+ T cell cytotoxicity and are progressively depleted from healthy controls to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients, positioning them as

Social Image Concerns and Pro-Social Behavior [PDF]
Using longitudinal data on the entire population of blood donors in an Italian town, we examine how donors respond to an award scheme which rewards them with “medals” when they reach certain donation quotas. Our results indicate that donors significantly

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

This study shows that lower NAM levels in PE‐derived pEVs correlate with disease severity. NAM‐deficient pEVs reduce Th1 and Th17 inhibition, leading to PE‐like symptoms. NAM in pEVs inhibits Th1 via SIRT1 and Th17 via macrophages. Reduced NAM in PE‐EVs is due to decreased HRS expression in trophoblasts, resulting from elevated HSP27.

[Theoretical approach to motivating people for voluntary blood donation].
The study points to the experience of a considerable number of authors and to our own experience in the use of sociopsychological theories and personal approaches to the motivation of people for voluntary blood donation. The experience in the following theories is described: personal norms and contribution of responsibility to oneself, economic theory,
