A Drug‐Gated, Modular STAb‐T Immunotherapy With External Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered STAb‐TON cells act as programmable living factories that continuously secrete inactive antibody modules, which assemble extracellularly into a functional T cell engager only upon small‐molecule administration. This externally controlled platform enables reversible, on‐demand regulation of antitumor immunity, establishing a new paradigm for ...

Genes r us? Making sense of genetic and non-genetic relationships following anonymous donor insemination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This exploratory qualitative study investigates the experiences of eight adults conceived following anonymous sperm donation who had discovered the identity both of their donor and of donor half-siblings and had established contact with each other.

Structural Basis of Shiga Toxin Neutralization by Human Antibodies Targeting Canonical Receptor‐Binding and Non‐Canonical Assembly Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryo‐electron microscopy structures reveal two distinct neutralization mechanisms of fully human monoclonal antibodies targeting the Shiga toxin 1a B subunit. RDS059 occludes the Gb3 receptor‐binding site, whereas RDS045 engages a lateral quaternary epitope to disrupt holotoxin assembly.

Complications related to blood donation: A multicenter study of the prevalence and influencing factors in voluntary blood donation camps in Karnataka, India

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science, 2016
Introduction: Complications associated with blood donation significantly lower odds of subsequent donations. The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence of complications related to blood donation, identify the influencing factors, and come up with ...

OAF Blocks SIAH1‐Mediated Degradation of SCPX, a Therapeutic Strategy for MASLD

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows OAF directly binds to SCPX and inhibits its interaction with the E3 ligase SIAH1, thereby protecting SCPX from ubiquitin‐dependent degradation and stabilizing its levels. This OAF‐SCPX axis represents a novel pathway in lipid homeostasis, highlighting OAF as a promising therapeutic candidate for MASLD.

Oligosaccharides With Defined Glycosidic Bonds Shape Gut Microbial Succession and Metabolism Via Bond‐Specific Microbial Responders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oligosaccharides with defined glycosidic bonds drive divergent gut microbial succession and shape unique metabolic profiles. Absolute time‐series profiling with Bayesian generalized Lotka–Volterra modeling identifies bond‐specific microbial responders, while monoculture validation and metaproteomics reveal linkage‐matched transport and cleavage modules.

Effect of adjusting the whole blood donation interval from 6 months to 3 months on blood donation adverse reactions and individual donation behavior: a multicenter, retrospective cohort study

open access: yesZhongguo shuxue zazhi
[Objective] Some regions in China have lowered the minimum interval for whole blood donation to 3 months through local regulations: Hainan, effective from March 1, 2012, allows men to donate at intervals of≥3 months and women at intervals of≥4 months ...

Targeting LDHA Palmitoylation Sensitizes GBM to Chemoradiotherapy via Suppressing Palmitic Acid Induced Glycolytic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal GSCs preferentially uptake palmitic acid, thereby promoting ZDHHC12‐mediated LDHA palmitoylation. This modification enhances LDHA enzymatic activity, drives glycolytic reprogramming, and facilitates exosomal LDHA‐mediated TAM regulation.

Prevalence of Antibodies to Hepatitis C Virus in Voluntary Blood Donors: Are Women Better Donors?

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH, 2014
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is transmitted by blood and blood products and it causes a major proportion of transfusion transmitted hepatitis. It can lead to chronic liver disease which has great morbidity and mortality. HCV is responsible for more deaths than Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
