Failure of voriconazole to cure disseminated zygomycosis in an immunocompromised child [PDF]
Voriconazole is increasingly used as a first-line agent for empirical antifungal therapy of prolonged febrile neutropenia in paediatric cancer patients. We describe the case of a 9-year-old patient with stage IV Burkitt lymphoma, who developed pulmonary ...

ABSTRACT There is an increased risk of invasive aspergillosis (IA) during the induction of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) because of the use of cytoreductive chemotherapy and high‐dose steroids. This case demonstrates the utility of metagenomic next‐generation sequencing and repeat sampling in clarifying complex infections and highlights ...

Metamizole induces voriconazole metabolism and results in subtherapeutic voriconazole concentrations
AimsVoriconazole is extensively metabolized via cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, predominantly CYP2C19 and CYP3A4. Drugs influencing the activity or expression of CYP enzymes can cause clinically relevant changes in the metabolism and voriconazole exposure. Metamizole is known to induce CYP3A4 and CYP2C19.

ABSTRACT Introduction Invasive fungal infection (IFI) after chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy is less common than bacterial and viral infections, but can be fatal once it develops. As most cases occur within 30 days after CAR T‐cell infusion, late‐onset IFI—particularly mould infection—appears to be under‐recognised.
