While nanoscale electrokinetic studies based on ion concentration polarization has been actively researched recently, random vortices naturally occur, leading to significantly destabilize in laboratory experiments or practical applications.

Objective Body mass index (BMI), glomerular filtration rate (GFR), and pretreatment urate levels have been reported to influence the urate‐lowering response to allopurinol. We investigated whether the fractional excretion of uric acid (FEUA) also modulates this response and relates to oxypurinol concentrations.

In order to investigate the flow structure and unsteady behavior of three-dimensional corner separation, a delayed detached-eddy simulation (DDES) method based on the Spalart–Allmaras (SA) model is performed on the third-stage stator of a multistage low ...

The supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) Brayton cycle has become one of the most promising power generation systems in recent years. Owing to the high density of S-CO2, the turbine operates with a lower flow coefficient and a reduced blade height ...

Single vortex states in a confined Bose-Einstein condensate
It has been demonstrated experimentally that non-axially symmetric vortices precess around the centre of a Bose-Einstein condensate. Two types of single vortex states have been observed, usually referred to as the S-vortex and the U-vortex.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...

Singularities in the flying electromagnetic doughnuts
Flying doughnuts (FDs) are exact propagating solutions of Maxwell equations in the form of single-cycle, space-time non-separable toroidal pulses. Here we review their properties and reveal the existence of a complex and robust fine topological structure.
