Effects of Vortex-Vortex Interaction in a Compressor Cascade With Vortex Generators

This paper presents a numerical investigation to explore the effects of vortex generators on a high speed compressor cascade. Secondary flow effects like the corner separation vortex have an influence on the performance of a compressor cascade such as leading to increased losses.

Flame–vortex interaction in a reacting vortex ring

Physics of Fluids, 1998
Direct numerical simulations are used to study the flame–vortex interaction in a laminar reacting vortex ring. The chemical reaction occurs by a one-step, Arrhenius-type reaction that mimics the combustion of typical hydrocarbon and air. The ring is generated by an axisymmetric jet that is impulsed to emit a cold fuel through a nozzle.

Vortex Fluctuations in Vortex Liquids

Results of Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of a lattice London model without pinning, carried out in order to study the nature of the vortex liquid state. are reported. Evidence for vortex-line lattice melting into an entengled vortex liquid in the isotropic model are presented. Results for the model with uniaxial anisotropy are also reported.
