Anomalous reflection and vortex beam generation by multi-bit coding acoustic metasurfaces

Applied Physics Letters, 2019
Coding metasurfaces can combine simple logical bits to acquire sophisticated functions in wave control. Recently, coding metasurfaces have been demonstrated to take flexible control of the acoustic wave and realize intriguing functionalities such as wave

Polarization characteristics of radially polarized partially coherent vortex beam in anisotropic plasma turbulence

Waves in Random and Complex Media, 2020
This paper introduces the propagation properties and polarization characteristics of radially polarized partially coherent vortex beams in anisotropic plasma turbulence and discusses in detail the distribution of light intensity in such beams as a ...

Vortex Coherent Beam Combining

Laser Congress 2021 (ASSL,LAC), 2021
We propose Coherent Beam Combining with vortex wavefront to create an effective optical trap. More than 50 dB barrier height (wall to center irradiance ratio) for 127-hexagonal lattice was shown in numerical model.

Vortex Hermite–Gaussian laser beams

Optics Letters, 2015
We study elliptical vortex Hermite-Gaussian (vHG) beams, which are described by the complex amplitude proportional to the nth-order Hermite polynomial whose argument is a function of a real parameter a. At |a|1, similar isolated optical nulls of the vHG beams are found on the horizontal axis. At a=0, the vHG beam becomes identical to the HG mode of the

Spatial intensity correlations of a vortex beam and a perfect optical vortex beam

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2019
We present a model based on the Fresnel diffraction scheme for the spatial coherence function of random fields created by scattering optical vortex and perfect vortex beams. By using the spatial coherence function we showed analytically, numerically, and experimentally the dependence and independence of the speckle size of an optical vortex and perfect

Polarization basis for vortex beams

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2001
Attention is called to a polarization basis formed by four Jones vectors that is reducible to two basic structures. In these states the field is linearly polarized at any point, but the polarization direction changes with the angular coordinate. Very simple equations hold for the field lines of these basis vectors.

Unwound vortex beam shaping

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
A beam shaping nietliod based on the superposition and unwinding of vortex beams is proposed. This method allows for the continuous tuning of the orbital angular momentum content and longitudinal intensity distribution of the beam. We provide with a closed expression for the orbital angular momentum content of a general superposition of vortex beams ...

Vortex beam generated by circular-polarized metasurface reflector antenna

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2019
Vortex beams with orbital angular momentum (OAM) can remarkably increase the channel capacity without signal process, thus attract more and more attention of researchers, and various novel methods of generating vortex beams blow out.
