Generation and evolution of vortex-antivortex pairs in Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2001
We propose a method for generating and controlling a spatially separated vortex--antivortex pair in a Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a toroidal potential.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Propagation-invariant vortex Airy beam whose singular point follows its main lobe

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We propose and demonstrate a novel vortex Airy beam which is a superposition of an Airy beam and its laterally sheared beam with a π /2 phase shift.

Evidence of Vortex Jamming in Abrikosov Vortex Flux Flow Regime

open access: yes, 2012
We report on dynamics of non-local Abrikosov vortex flow in mesoscopic superconducting Nb channels. Magnetic field dependence of the non-local voltage induced by the flux flow shows that vortices form ordered vortex chains.

Vortex dynamics of wakes [PDF]

open access: yesNelineinaya Dinamika, 2006
Summary: Several problems related to the dynamics of vortex patterns as observed in wake flows are addressed. These include: The universal Strouhal-Reynolds number relation. The Hamiltonian dynamics of point vortices in a periodic strip, both the classical two-vortices-in-a-strip problem, which gives the structure and self-induced velocity of the ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Vortex dynamics controlled by local superconducting enhancement

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
A controlled local enhancement of superconductivity yields unexpected modifications in the vortex dynamics. This local enhancement has been achieved by designing an array of superconducting Nb nanostructures embedded in a V superconducting film. The most

Geometry and dynamics of vortex sheets in 3 dimension [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2002
We consider the properties and dynamics of vortex sheets from a geometrical, coordinate-free, perspective. Distribution-valued forms (de Rham currents) are used to represent the fluid velocity and vorticity due to the vortex sheets. The smooth velocities

Quantum vortex dynamics in two-dimensional neutral superfluids

open access: yes, 2009
We derive an effective action for the vortex position degree-of-freedom in a superfluid by integrating out condensate phase and density fluctuation environmental modes.

First Order Vortex Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Physics, 1997
A non-dissipative model for vortex motion in thin superconductors is considered. The Lagrangian is a Galilean invariant version of the Ginzburg--Landau model for time-dependent fields, with kinetic terms linear in the first time derivatives of the fields.
