Spectral proper orthogonal decomposition [PDF]
The identification of coherent structures from experimental or numerical data is an essential task when conducting research in fluid dynamics. This typically involves the construction of an empirical mode base that appropriately captures the dominant ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Streamwise forced oscillations of circular and square cylinders [PDF]
The modification of a cylinder wake by streamwise oscillation of the cylinder at the vortex shedding frequency of the unperturbed cylinder is reported. Recent numerical simulations [J. S. Leontini, D. Lo Jacono, and M. C.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

The dynamic vortex characteristics and thermal-hydraulic performance of a serrated finned tube heat exchanger were numerically analyzed under varying Reynolds numbers (Re = 10,000–60,000), fin spacing (Sf = 3.63–6.76 mm), and fin height (hf = 10.7–14.7 ...

Evaluation the possibility of vortex-induced resonance for a multistage pressure reducing valve.
A multistage pressure reducing valve is presented in this paper. The pressure reducing components are specially designed to not only control the flow rate but also effectively prevent the cavitation vibration.

Biomimetic bluff body drag reduction by self-adaptive porous flaps [PDF]
The performances of an original passive control system based on a biomimetic approach are assessed by investigating the flow over a bluff-body. This control device consists in a couple of flaps made from the combination of a rigid plastic skeleton coated
