Deformed Wing Virus in Iranian Honeybees: Molecular Detection, Phylogenetic Diversity and Regional Insights

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Bee Sampling Molecular Detection DWV Infection. ABSTRACT Deformed wing virus (DWV) is an important pathogen for honeybee colonies, whose infections are linked to those caused by the ectoparasitic mite Varroa destructor. The current study concerns DWV's molecular detection and phylogenetic characterization in Iranian honeybee populations originating ...

1-String CZ-Representation of Planar Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we prove that every planar 4-connected graph has a CZ-representation---a string representation using paths in a rectangular grid that contain at most one vertical segment.

Heat transport of clean spin-ladders coupled to phonons: Umklapp scattering and drag

open access: yes, 2007
We study the low-temperature heat transport in clean two-leg spin ladder compounds coupled to three-dimensional phonons. We argue that the very large heat conductivities observed in such systems can be traced back to the existence of approximate ...

High‐resolution optical design of the sub‐meV ARPES beamline at the Ultrafast Transient Experimental Facility

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 1549-1560, November 2025.
The Ultrafast Transient Experimental Facility at Chongqing University is developing an advanced ARPES beamline capable of 0.4 meV energy resolution within the 10–40 eV photon energy range, featuring photon flux over 1012 photons s−1, tunable polarization and ultra‐low temperatures below 1.5 K.

Regulating stepping during fixed-speed and self-paced treadmill walking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
textBackground: Treadmill walking should closely simulate overground walking for research validation and optimal skill transfer. Traditional fixed-speed treadmill (FS) walking may not simulate natural walking because of the fixed belt speed and lack of ...

Learning Synergies between Pushing and Grasping with Self-supervised Deep Reinforcement Learning

open access: yes, 2018
Skilled robotic manipulation benefits from complex synergies between non-prehensile (e.g. pushing) and prehensile (e.g. grasping) actions: pushing can help rearrange cluttered objects to make space for arms and fingers; likewise, grasping can help ...

Approximating MIS over equilateral $B_1$-VPG graphs

open access: yes, 2019
We present an approximation algorithm for the maximum independent set (MIS) problem over the class of equilateral $B_1$-VPG graphs. These are intersection graphs of $L$-shaped planar objects % (and their rotations by multiples of $90^o$) with both arms of each object being equal. We obtain a $36(\log 2d)$-approximate algorithm running in $O(n(\log n)^2)

Characterising Chordal Contact: Bo-VPG Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A graph G is a Bo- VPG graph if it is the vertex intersection graph of horizontal and vertical paths on a grid. A graph G is a contact Bo- VPG graph if the vertices can be represented by interiorly disjoint horizontal or vertical paths on a grid and two vertices are adjacent if and only if the corresponding paths touch.

Single-Electron Effects in a Coupled Dot-Ring System

open access: yes, 2004
Aharonov-Bohm oscillations are studied in the magnetoconductance of a micron-sized open quantum ring coupled capacitively to a Coulomb-blockaded quantum dot.

Molecular studies on the sweet potato virus disease and its two causal agents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The studies presented in this thesis contribute to an increased understanding of the molecular aspects, variability and interaction of the two most important viral pathogens of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L): Sweet potato feathery mottle virus (SPFMV ...
