Journal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 533, Issue 4, April 2025.The medial amygdala and BSTM are part of the social behavior network and include a subpopulation of glutamatergic neurons that express the transcription factor Otp. We show that the vast majority of these neurons express mRNA of gonadal hormone receptors (Ar, Esr1, and Esr2), and at least part of them are sexually dimorphic.
