While corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasmapheresis are effective first‐line immunotherapies, a subset of patients remains treatment‐refractory.

In recent years, critiques of the ‘vulnerability’ label ascribed to specific population groups have gained momentum due to its stigmatising effects.
