Wagner theory and short circuit diffusion
Materials Science and Technology, 1988AbstractThe growth of an oxide film on a metal by thermal oxidation is usually discussed in terms of Wagner's theory in which the oxidation rate is controlled by the transport of ions across the oxide film under the combined effects of concentration gradients and electric fields.

The Rescorla-Wagner Model: The culmination of Hume’s theory of causation.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Learning and Cognition, 2022The associative learning theory of Robert Rescorla and Allan Wagner has been duly celebrated for its 50-year reign as the predominant model in learning science. One special recognition is warranted: its close correspondence with David Hume's associative theory of causality judgment.

Extending the Rescorla-Wagner theory to account for transswitching
Biological Psychology, 1991This article is a brief response to commentaries made by Bond and Siddle (1988) and Lovibond (1988) to our article (Kimmel & Lachnit, 1988) outlining some of the difficulties encountered by the Rescorla-Wagner theory in predicting the outcome of transswitching experiments. We show that Bond and Siddle's assertion that increasing the value of beta would

Limits of application for Wagner's oxidation theory
Oxidation of Metals, 1972The main quantitative results from Wagner's oxidation theory are recalled while the conditions of application of that theory are reviewed from the point of view of oxidation kinetics like those of chromium, zinc, and iron. Bibliographical results on cobalt and copper oxidation and on cobaltous and cuprous oxides are quantitatively compared to Wagner's ...

Oxidation of metals with highly reactive vapors: Extension of wagner theory
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2001In this article, a theoretical analysis of the behavior of metallic materials at high temperature in the presence of gaseous oxygen is presented. A generalized Wagner approach is presented in the limiting scenario of highly reactive vapors, Wagner’s theory being the lower limit for null reactivity.

Does the Oxidation of Zirconium obey Wagner's Theory??
Materials and Corrosion, 1970AbstractThe use of different experimental analysis methods allowed to evidence a rigorously parabolic law for oxidation of zirconium after an initially disturbed period which has been related to the oxide layer formation. The oxygen dissolution in the metal follows a parabolic law right from its start.
