Risk of end‐stage renal disease in Korean patients with type 2 diabetes according to cumulative low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol levels

High cumulative LDL‐C levels increase ESRD risk in type 2 diabetes, particularly among patients using insulin, those receiving multiple antidiabetic medications, and those with longer diabetes duration. Longer exposure to elevated LDL‐C further increases risk, underscoring the need for intensive LDL‐C control.

Data‐driven cluster analysis of adults with prediabetes: Findings from the Japan diabetes prevention study

Unsupervised clustering of 295 Japanese adults with impaired glucose tolerance identified three distinct prediabetes subtypes based on HbA1c, HOMA‐β, HOMA‐IR, and HDL‐cholesterol. These subtypes showed different risks of developing type 2 diabetes and varied responses to lifestyle intervention over 6 years.

Frequency of islet autoantibody seropositivity among adults with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in the Kazakh population: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Among adults with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in Kazakhstan, 25.8% showed islet autoantibody positivity, indicating a substantial autoimmune component. ZnT8 and GADA were the most prevalent, supporting the importance of immunological assessment for accurate diabetes classification.
