Turbulence Characteristics in the Near Wake of a Compressor Rotor Blade
AIAA Journal, 1979This paper is concerned with the turbulence properties in the near wake of a rotating compressor blade. The variation of the axial, tangential and radial intensities as well as stresses across the wake and its decay characteristics were measured with a triaxial hot wire probe rotating with the rotor downstream of an axial flow compressor.

Characteristics of the near wake of a compressor or fan rotor blade
11th Fluid and PlasmaDynamics Conference, 1978Research reported in this paper covers an experimental investigation of the rotor wake. The experimental investigation included a study of the mean velocity, turbulence intensity, and Reynolds stress variations across the wake of a lightly loaded rotor blade at various axial and radial locations.

Characteristics of midbrain respiratory neurons in sleep and wakefulness in the cat
Brain Research, 1982Midbrain neurons were recorded in sleep and wakefulness in chronic cats. In the first phase of this study, we attempted to detect respiratory neurons by observing neuronal activity on an oscilloscope and listening to it after audioamplification. We studied 780 neurons in this non-quantitative way and failed to detect any respiratory activity.

[Characteristic times in sleep-waking electroencephalograms].
Revista de neurologia, 2003EEG signals emerge from the collective behaviour of large neuronal aggregates and betrays the information processed by neocortex. This electrophysiological collective activity varies with the brain function. Thus, one can ask whether there exists any indication of that neuronal activity in the EEG record. In this work this question is considered in the

Characteristics of the functioning of the hippocampal formation in waking and paradoxical sleep
Neuroscience and Behavioral Physiology, 2009Analysis of published data identifying different neurotransmitter concentrations in the brain in paradoxical sleep and waking and data on the influences of neurotransmitters on the efficiency of the synaptic inputs to hippocampal neurons led to the conclusion that increases in the acetylcholine, cortisol, and dopamine concentrations during paradoxical ...
