Wake dynamics and rotor-fuselage aerodynamic interactions
The unsteady loads experienced by a helicopter are known to be strongly influenced by aerodynamic interactions between the rotor and fuselage; these unsteady loads can lead to deficiencies in handling qualities and unacceptable vibratory characteristics ...

Comparison of a coupled near- and far-wake model with a free-wake vortex code [PDF]
This paper presents the integration of a near-wake model for trailing vorticity, which is based on a prescribed-wake lifting-line model proposed by Beddoes(1987), with a blade element momentum (BEM)-based far-wake model and a 2-D shed vorticity model.

Upward Shift of Wind Turbine Wakes in Large Wind Farms
A detailed description of wake characteristics is essential for optimizing wind farm performance. Compared with the wake of a stand-alone wind turbine, less attention has been paid to wind turbine wakes in large wind farms.

Implementation of a Near-Wake Region within the Curled-Wake Model
Abstract. Modelling the near-wake region becomes more important as turbines are positioned with a relatively smaller spacing due to site restrictions, leading to significant power losses and increased fatigue loading. These effects can be mitigated by actively steering the wake away from the downstream turbine.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

An Aero-acoustic Noise Distribution Prediction Methodology for Offshore Wind Farms
Recently attention has been paid to wind farm noise due to its negative health impact, not only on human beings, but also to marine and terrestrial organisms. The current work proposes a numerical methodology to generate a numerical noise map for a given

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Simulation of wake vortex effects for UAVs in close formation flight [PDF]
This paper addresses the development of multiple UAV deployment simulation models that include representative aerodynamic cross-coupling effects. Applications may include simulations of autonomous aerial refuelling and formation flying scenarios.

A Modeling Method of Ship Acoustic Wake Echo Signal
It is an important way to study the ship wake by building simulation data through the acoustic wake echo signal model. At present, the scattering echo of a single bubble is ignored in the existing models. Therefore, a point scattering model for different

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe
