The effect of wall cooling on a compressible turbulent boundary layer [PDF]
Experimental results are presented for two turbulent boundary-layer experiments conducted at a free-stream Mach number of 4 with wall cooling. The first experiment examines a constant-temperature cold-wall boundary layer subjected to adverse and ...

Understanding the effects of rotation on the wake of a wind turbine at high Reynolds number
The wake of a horizontal-axis wind turbine was studied at a Reynolds number of $Re_D=4\times 10^6$ with the aim of revealing the effects of the tip speed ratio, $\lambda$ , on the wake.

Wake Recovery Performance Benefit in a High-Speed Axial Compressor [PDF]
This paper addresses the significant differences in compressor rotor wake mixing loss which exist in a stage environment relative to a rotor in isolation. The wake decay for a rotor in isolation is due solely to viscous dissipation which is an irreversible process and thus leads to a loss in both total pressure and efficiency.

Convex Curvature Effect on the Wake Including Recovery from the Curvature
Streamwise convex-curvature effect including recovery process is discussed. Previous studies have demonstrated that even mild streamwise curvature has a marked effect on turbulence structure, heat transfer and skin friction coefficient.

Observations of wind farm wake recovery at an operating wind farm [PDF]
The interplay of momentum surrounding wind farms significantly influences wake recovery, affecting the speed at which wakes return to their freestream velocities. Under stable atmospheric conditions, wind farm wakes can extend over considerable distances,

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Unraveling the Mysteries of Turbulence Transport in a Wind Farm
A true physical understanding of the mysteries involved in the recovery process of the wake momentum deficit, downstream of utility-scale wind turbines in the atmosphere, has not been obtained to date.
