A non-symmetric Gaussian wake model for lateral wake-to-wake interactions
Abstract In this paper, we propose a new non-symmetric Gaussian wake model, which allows for different lateral expansions on the two sides of a wake to account for its interaction with neighbouring wakes. The proposed model is formulated following classical speed-deficit assumptions and momentum conservation.

Numerical investigation of transitional supersonic axisymmetric wakes
Transitional supersonic axisymmetric wakes are investigated by conducting various numerical experiments. The main objective is to identify hydrodynamic instability mechanisms in the flow at M=2.46 for several Reynolds numbers, and relating these to ...

Clocking In Turbines: Remarks On Physical Nature And Geometric Requirements
The article discusses two issues relating to the clocking phenomenon in turbines, which are the physical course of stator wake deformation in rotor passages and its further interaction with downstream stator blades, and turbine geometry parameters which ...

Turbulence Characteristics of the Flexible Circular Cylinder Agitator
A flexible protruding surface was employed as the flow disturbance to promote turbulence at the area of interest. An ultrasonic velocity profiler, UVP technique, was used to study the mean and fluctuating flow properties in the near wake of the rigid and

Wake-up (or Wake-up for) Stroke: A Treatable Stroke [PDF]
A 74-year-old man was admitted to the Emergency Room of our institution with worsening dysarthria, left-side weakness and hypoesthesia (NIHSS score: 5) since his awakening at 7:30 a.m. The evening before, he had gone to sleep at 10:30 p.m. Brain computed tomography (CT) and cervicocranial CT angiography showed low density attenuation of the right ...
