EFFICIENT WALD TESTS FOR FRACTIONAL UNIT ROOTS [PDF]

open access: yes
In this article we introduce efficient Wald tests for testing the null hypothesis of unit root against the alternative of fractional unit root. In a local alternative framework, the proposed tests are locally asymptotically equivalent to the optimal ...

Impact of Sustainable Agricultural Practices on Labor Use Among Rice Farmers in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Mekong Delta (MKD), Vietnam has achieved high rice productivity through rapid intensification. However, this progress has led to environmental degradation and adverse economic and health effects. To mitigate these challenges, sustainable agricultural practices (SAPs) have been promoted.

Testing for Multiple Structural Changes in Cointegrated Regression Models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper considers issues related to testing for multiple structural changes in cointegrated systems. We derive the limiting distribution of the Sup-Wald test under mild conditions on the errors and regressors for a variety of testing problems. We show

Does a Specialized Niche Market Vegetable Processor Enjoy Bargaining Power?

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Agribusiness companies may achieve competitive advantage through specialization within niche markets. One such niche is the fresh‐cut fruit and vegetable market, which has been steadily growing in Germany. This study examines whether the specialization of a German fresh‐cut producer grants it with market power within this niche market.

Is neglected heterogeneity really an issue in binary and fractional regression models? A simulation exercise for logit, probit and loglog models [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we examine theoretically and by simulation whether or not unobserved heterogeneity independent of the included regressors is really an issue in logit, probit and loglog models with both binary and fractional data.

The Role of Certifications in Improving Household Food Security Among Peruvian Farmers

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Achieving global food security requires sustainable transformations in agri‐food systems. Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) such as Organic and Fairtrade aim to internalize certain social and environmental costs while promoting more equitable value distribution, improved market access, and sustainable production practices.

Hypothesis testing and sample size considerations for the test-negative design

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology
The test-negative design (TND) is an observational study design to evaluate vaccine effectiveness (VE) that enrolls individuals receiving diagnostic testing for a target disease as part of routine care.

The Granger Non-Causality Test in Cointegrated Vector Autoregressions [PDF]

open access: yes
In general, Wald tests for the Granger non-causality in vector autoregressive (VAR) process are known to have non-standard asymptotic properties for cointegrated systems.

Differential Prognostic Impact of Prior Cholecystectomy Between Proximal and Distal Colorectal Cancer: A 12‐Year Retrospective Cohort Study of 3487 Consecutive Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In this retrospective cohort of 3487 patients with CRC, history of CCY was associated with significantly worse prognosis in patients with proximal CRC but not in those with distal CRC. This differential prognostic impact showed a statistically significant interaction between tumor location and history of CCY and remained robust after PSM.

Estimation of parameters and hypothesis testing of multivariate spatial autoregressive model

open access: yesMethodsX
Spatial dependence plays a critical role in modeling multivariate response variables, particularly in fields such as epidemiology and environmental studies.
