Coronatine Enhances Stalk Bending Resistance of Maize, Thickens the Cell Wall and decreases the Area of the Vascular Bundles

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
Coronatine (COR) is a phytotoxin produced by the pathogen Pseudomonas syringae, it has a structure similar to that of jasmonates (JAs), but it is much more active as a plant growth regulator. The goal of this study was to gain more insight into the effect and the mechanism of COR effects on stalk characteristics are related lodging resistance of maize.

A comparison of three ways to assemble wall-to-wall maps from distribution models of vegetation types

open access: yesGIScience & Remote Sensing, 2021
Distribution modeling methods are used to provide occurrence probability surfaces for modeled targets. While most often used for modeling species, distribution modeling methods can also be applied to vegetation types.

Nitrogen Fertilization Weakly Influences the Anatomy and Chemical Composition of Rice Leaves

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
In this paper, four rice genotypes showing different leaf mass per area (LMA) are used to explore the effects of nitrogen (N) supplies on rice leaf anatomy and leaf chemical composition as well as their impacts on leaf gas exchange parameters.

An Experimental Study of the Effect of a Small-Scale Rectangular Canal’s Wall Roughness on the Flow Patterns in a 90° Sharp Bend with a Radius of Curvature to the Bottom Width Ratio of 2 [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2014
The wetted perimeter’s roughness, the radius of curvature and its ratio to the bottom width affect the flow velocity and its patterns. This laboratory study was conducted in a 90° sharp bend flume with a rectangular cross-sectional area, and the radius ...

Characterizing Hyperspectral Microscope Imagery for Classification of Blueberry Firmness with Deep Learning Methods

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
Firmness is an important quality indicator of blueberries. Firmness loss (or softening) of postharvest blueberries has posed a challenge in its shelf-life quality control and can be delineated with its microstructural changes.
