Computational modeling of low‐density lipoprotein accumulation at the carotid artery bifurcation after stenting

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2023., 2023
This paper presents a computational study that investigates the impact of stent strut design on LDL transport and accumulation at the stented carotid artery bifurcation, contributing to the prediction of the risk of in‐stent restenosis. The wall‐free model consists of transient CFD simulations coupled with advection‐diffusion equations of LDL.

Effect of percutaneous stenting strategy of unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction by three‐dimensional reconstruction volumetry

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 12, Issue 8, Page 9506-9516, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Purpose To explore clinical outcomes of percutaneous stent implantation using volumetric criteria for unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction (MHBO). Additionally, aimed to identify the predictors of patients' survival. Methods Seventy‐two patients who were initially diagnosed with MHBO between January 2013 to December 2019 in our ...

Pancreatic cancer with pseudoaneurysm after duckbill‐shaped anti‐reflux metal stent placement: A case report

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 3, Issue 1, April 2023., 2023
Abstract A 74‐year‐old man was diagnosed with unresectable pancreatic cancer with obstructive jaundice. Chemotherapy with gemcitabine and nab‐paclitaxel was initiated after placement of a duckbill‐shaped anti‐reflux metal stent (D‐ARMS). A period of 1 month after D‐ARMS placement, the patient developed hematemesis and entered severe shock following ...

Fully covered metallic stents for anastomotic biliary strictures after living donor liver transplantation

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 3, Issue 1, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Objectives Anastomotic biliary strictures (ABSs) are common complications following living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). We evaluated the feasibility of a novel removable, intraductal, fully covered, self‐expandable metallic stent (FCSEMS) for the treatment of ABSs following LDLT.

Current State of MRI‐Guided Endovascular Arterial Interventions: A Systematic Review of Preclinical and Clinical Studies

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 1322-1342, November 2022., 2022
Background MRI guidance of arterial endovascular interventions could be beneficial as it does not require radiation exposure, allows intrinsic blood‐tissue contrast, and enables three‐dimensional and functional imaging, however, clinical applications are still limited.

Central airway obstruction treatment with self‐expanding covered Y‐carina nitinol stents: A single center retrospective analysis

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 13, Issue 7, Page 1040-1049, April 2022., 2022
Implantation of self‐expanding covered Y‐carina nitinol stents via rigid bronchoscopy in central airway obstruction is a feasible and safe treatment option for benign and malignant central airway obstruction, that might facilitate subsequent additional therapeutic options. Underlying diagnosis did not alter the outcome.

Impact of Diabetes Mellitus on Early Clinical Outcome and Stent Restenosis after Carotid Artery Stenting

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Research, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Background. Diabetes mellitus is closely related to both the severity of carotid disease and its outcome after revascularization. Carotid artery stenting (CAS) has emerged as a viable alternative to surgical endarterectomy but little is known about the impact of diabetes after CAS. Methods.

[Retracted] Effects of CDT on Hemodynamics and Quality of Life in a Subgroup of Patients with Lower Limb Deep Vein Thrombosis Carel: A Case‐Control Study

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Objective. To explore the effects of combined catheter‐directed thrombolysis (CDT) on hemodynamics and quality of life in a subgroup of patients with lower limb deep vein thrombosis carel by using a case‐control study. Methods. Eighty‐four patients with deep venous thrombosis (DVT: acute DVT and chronic DVT) of lower extremities treated in our hospital
