Influence of woven ply degradation on fatigue crack growth in thin notched composites under tensile loading [PDF]
This paper deals with the fatigue of the through the-thickness crack propagation in thin notched composite laminates made of two glass woven plies. It highlights the different crack growths between warp and weft directions of the woven ply.

On a loom, the warp yarns experience exceptionally high mechanical stresses and strains, as well as significant abrasion from friction. As a result, significant yarn breakages cause loom stoppages and, hence, production and quality interruptions.

Non-Abelian (p,q) Strings in the Warped Deformed Conifold [PDF]
We calculate the tension of $(p,q)$-strings in the warped deformed conifold using the non-Abelian DBI action. In the large flux limit, we find exact agreement with the recent expression obtained by Firouzjahi, Leblond and Henry-Tye up to and including ...

Warp Tension of Tricot Machines

Mechanical properties of coated fabric membranes at high temperature
A model about the strength of polyvinyl chloride coated polyester at high temperature was proposed in this paper. The model can predict the warp-direction strength, weft-direction strength, and off-axis strength at high temperatures according to the ...

Fatigue crack growth in thin notched woven glass composites under tensile loading. Part II: modelling [PDF]
Fatigue propagation of a through-the-thickness crack in thin woven glass laminates is difficult to model when using homogeneous material assumption. Crack growth depends on both the fatigue behaviour of the fibres and of the matrix, these two phenomena ...

The General Warped Solution with Conical Branes in Six-dimensional Supergravity [PDF]
We present the general regular warped solution with 4D Minkowski spacetime in six-dimensional gauged supergravity. In this framework, we can easily embed multiple conical branes into the warped geometry by choosing an undetermined holomorphic function ...

A Statistical Approach for Obtaining the Controlled Woven Fabric Width
A common problem faced in fabric manufacturing is the production of inconsistent fabric width on shuttleless looms in spite of the same fabric specifications. Weft-wise crimp controls the fabric width and it depends on a number of factors, including warp
