Video Frame Interpolation Based on Symmetric and Asymmetric Motions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Video frame interpolation is the task to synthesize intermediate frames between consecutive frames to increase the frame rate. Recently, various deep-learning techniques have been proposed to interpolate intermediate frames more reliably.

Low‐Symmetry Weyl Semimetals: A Path to Ideal Topological States

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a theoretical framework for realizing ideal Weyl semimetals, where Weyl nodes are well‐isolated at the Fermi level. The approach is exemplified in the low‐symmetry material Cu2SnSe3, which exhibits tunable topological phases, current‐induced orbital magnetization, and a strong circular photogalvanic effect, making it a promising ...

Mechanical Properties of Architected Polymer Lattice Materials: A Comparative Study of Additive Manufacturing and CAD Using FEM and µ‐CT

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how pore shape and manufacturing‐induced deviations affect the mechanical properties of 3D‐printed lattice materials with constant porosity. Combining µ‐CT analysis, FEM, and compression testing, the authors show that structural imperfections reduce stiffness and strength, while bulk material inhomogeneities probably enhance ...

Effect of Annealing Time of GaN Buffer Layer on Curvature and Wavelength Uniformity of Epitaxial Wafer

open access: yesCondensed Matter
In this study, the curvature changes of an unintentionally doped GaN end and third quantum well were observed in situ when the annealing times of a GaN buffer layer were 40 s, 50 s and 55 s, respectively.

Geometry-Aware GAN for Face Attribute Transfer

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, the geometry-aware GAN, referred to as GAGAN, is proposed to address the issue of face attribute transfer with unpaired data. The source and target images are not aligned and come from different individuals.

Polygonal finite element-based content-aware image warping

open access: yesComputational Visual Media, 2023
Mesh-based image warping techniques typically represent image deformation using linear functions on triangular meshes or bilinear functions on rectangular meshes. This enables simple and efficient implementation, but in turn, restricts the representation

An Efficient Method for Document Correction Based on Checkerboard Calibration Pattern

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Portable digital devices such as PDAs and camera phones are the easiest and most widely used methods to preserve and collect information. Capturing a document image using this method always has warping issues, especially when capturing pages from a book ...

Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles Based on Carbon Nanotube Yarns and Eutectogel Derivatives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid‐state artificial muscles based on coiled commercial carbon nanotube yarns coated with eutectogel derivatives exhibit unipolar actuation through selective ion intercalation. Combining polyanionic and polycationic gels enables enhanced contractile stroke and high energy density.
