Horizontal wastewater heat recovery heat exchanger, a model
The residential and service sector amounts to approximately 40 percent of Sweden’s entire energy demand. In which 90 percent of that is used by households and non-residential buildings. All in all about 80 TWh are used for heating and the provision of hot water in households and non-residential buildings. Since heating has always been such a large part

Circular Economy Pathways for Airport Climate Change Mitigation
ABSTRACT Airport operators face growing climate‐change pressures; the circular economy offers pathways to reduce impacts and recover resources. We examine how airport operators apply the circular economy in practice. We use an exploratory qualitative multicase design based on practitioner‐generated documents (e.g., press releases and sustainability ...

Steam Saving by Waste-Heat Recovery from Pulping Wastewater

ABSTRACT The global manufacturing sector has increasingly adopted circular economy (CE) practices to address sustainability challenges and improve operational efficiency. This study explores the impact of five CE practices—reduce, reuse, remanufacture, recycle, and recover—on key operational performance dimensions: quality, speed, dependability ...

ABSTRACT The transition to a circular economy (CE) has become a strategic priority for firms, yet empirical assessments of corporate circularity remain fragmented and heavily dependent on structured indicators or self‐reported metrics. This paper proposes a novel, text‐based circularity index derived from mandatory non‐financial statements of large ...

Integrating Products, Processes, and Sourcing for Eco‐Innovation
ABSTRACT Eco‐innovation research has often examined regulatory or technological drivers but has paid limited attention to how long‐term organizational change shapes eco‐innovation in mature, resource‐intensive industries. This study addresses that gap by investigating how two leading Finnish pulp and paper firms integrated product, process, and ...
