Domestic wastewater heat recovery

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of this thesis is to study and explain the purpose and the function of drain water heat exchangers. The thesis goes over theory behind heat transfer and heat exchangers and presents the general solutions of domestic drain water heat recovery systems. Systems gone over in detail are the different general shower drain water heat recovery systems.

A computational study of Ising‐based solvers for discrete landscape exploration in process optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Conceptual process design combines discrete configuration choices with continuous operating decisions, often yielding difficult mixed‐integer nonlinear or simulation‐based optimization problems. This work presents an exploratory computational assessment of Ising‐based solvers, simulated annealing, quantum annealing, and entropy computing, as ...

Experimental Study on Performances of Heat Pump Water Heater Based on Heat Recovery of Domestic Wastewater

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2011
In order to solve the present situation of unceasing demand for hot water and severe loss of quantity of heat from wastewater,a new type of heat pump water heater was developed based on heat recovery of domestic wastewater. In this paper, the relation ...

The biofactories: Quantifying environmental benefits of the wastewater circular economy in Chile using life cycle assessment

open access: yesCircular Economy
The wastewater circular economy promises improved environmental impacts within the food-water-energy nexus. This requires verification as the global sanitation sectors seek to improve environmental impacts and achieve integrated water management.

Modelling heat recovery potential from household wastewater

open access: yes, 2019
There is a strongly growing interest for wastewater heat recovery (WWHR) in Sweden and elsewhere, but a lack of adequate tools to determine downstream impacts due to the associated temperature drop.

Horizontal wastewater heat recovery heat exchanger, a model

open access: yes, 2019
The residential and service sector amounts to approximately 40 percent of Sweden’s entire energy demand. In which 90 percent of that is used by households and non-residential buildings. All in all about 80 TWh are used for heating and the provision of hot water in households and non-residential buildings. Since heating has always been such a large part

Liquid–Liquid Equilibrium Data for Refined Olive Pomace Oil + Oleic Acid + Ethanol + Water Systems: Application to Solvent Deacidification

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents the first experimental liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for quaternary systems composed of refined olive pomace oil, oleic acid, ethanol, and water at 303.15 K. These data are essential for the design and optimization of solvent‐based deacidification processes, particularly for oils with high free fatty acid (FFA ...

Advancements in CO2 Capture Technologies: A Review of Amine Absorption and Alternative Methods for Post‐Combustion Integration

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carbon capture technologies are poised to become one of the primary focuses regarding the achievement of net‐zero emissions by the year 2050. In these technologies, particular attention is given to post‐combustion CO2 capture, which is more easily implemented at existing power stations and other industries.

Steam Saving by Waste-Heat Recovery from Pulping Wastewater

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 2007
