Parametric study of a wastewater heat recovery system for buildings

open access: yes, 2019
Global efforts makes buildings successively more energy efficient. This results in that the percentage of the total energy in the building that is lost to the sewage system, in the form of hot water, is increasing. The characteristics of the wastewater originating from the urban water cycle makes it an attractive heat source which is relatively ...

A Comprehensive Review of the Key Factors Affecting Biogas Production From Anaerobic Digestion of Organic Waste

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
Efficient conversion of organic waste to biogas depends on the coordinated optimization of feedstock composition, pretreatment, operational parameters, reactor design, and microbial community dynamics. This review highlights how these interacting factors improve methane yield and process stability, advancing anaerobic digestion as a practical pathway ...

Concentrated Seawater‐Assisted Greener Production of Biochar: Waste Valorization and Its Implication in Circular Economy

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates upcycling of waste biomass together with waste brine water to functional biochar materials with applications in both supercapacitors and adsorbent materials. This approach aligns with the principles of the circular economy, where waste streams are transformed into valuable resources, contributing to a more sustainable and ...

Upgradation of Waste Dyed Fiber Through Production of Upcycled Rotor‐Spun Yarn: Enhancing Sustainability in Textiles

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
This research is about development of upcycled yarn from textile waste. The results demonstrate that RDFW can be successfully incorporated into yarn production, maintaining comparable tensile strength and uniformity, while reducing waste and resource consumption also save up to 22,000 L of water and 1.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram of cotton.
