Study of the Evolution of Water-Conducting Fracture Zones in Overlying Rock of a Fully Mechanized Caving Face in Gently Inclined Extra-Thick Coal Seams

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
To study the caving of thick hard overburdens and evolution of water-conducting fracture zones in fully mechanized top-coal caving faces of gently inclined extra-thick coal seams, we comprehensively analyzed the 8103 working face of the Beixinyao Coal ...

Prediction of the Height of Fractured Water-Conducting Zone: Significant Factors and Model Optimization

open access: yesWater, 2023
Predicting the height of the fractured water-conducting zone (FWCZ) can be challenging due to their significant grey characteristics and the difficulty in scientifically selecting relevant influencing factors. To address this issue, we utilized the Pearson correlation analysis method and the grey entropy correlation analysis method to identify the ...

Formation mechanism and height calculation of the caved zone and water-conducting fracture zone in solid backfill mining [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology, 2020
AbstractTo study the heights of the caved zone and water-conducting fracture zone in backfill mining, the failure mechanism of strata during backfill mining was analyzed, and a method for determining the heights of the two zones was proposed based on key strata theory.

Electrical Anisotropic Response of Water Conducted Fractured Zone in the Mining Goaf

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
Based on the Maxwell equation, the occurrences of fractured zones are studied through the galvanic method. The electrical and magnetic fields are first derived in the spatial domain. To simplify the calculations, the computational formulas of the electrical fields in the spatial domain are transformed into the wavenumber domain by the Fourier transform.

A Model to Estimate the Height of the Water-conducting Fracture Zone for Longwall Panels in Western China

open access: yesMine Water and the Environment, 2020
Accurate prediction of the height of the water-conducting fracture zone (WCFZ) is very important for safe coal mining, water resource storage, and protecting the environment. The proportion coefficient of hard rock and the actual height of the top caving coal were defined to predict the height of the WCFZ more accurately.
