Formation mechanism and height calculation of the caved zone and water-conducting fracture zone in solid backfill mining [PDF]
AbstractTo study the heights of the caved zone and water-conducting fracture zone in backfill mining, the failure mechanism of strata during backfill mining was analyzed, and a method for determining the heights of the two zones was proposed based on key strata theory.

Electrical Anisotropic Response of Water Conducted Fractured Zone in the Mining Goaf
Based on the Maxwell equation, the occurrences of fractured zones are studied through the galvanic method. The electrical and magnetic fields are first derived in the spatial domain. To simplify the calculations, the computational formulas of the electrical fields in the spatial domain are transformed into the wavenumber domain by the Fourier transform.

Accurate prediction of the height of the water-conducting fracture zone (WCFZ) is very important for safe coal mining, water resource storage, and protecting the environment. The proportion coefficient of hard rock and the actual height of the top caving coal were defined to predict the height of the WCFZ more accurately.

Development of overlying strata collapse and water-conducting fractured zone in shallow coal seams mining [PDF]
Shallow underground mining of coal seams has significant impacts on the overlying rock formations, not only exacerbating surface subsidence but also potentially leading to surface and groundwater loss, thereby affecting the development and safety of the ecological environment.

A thermodynamically consistent derivation of a frictional-damage cohesive-zone model with different mode i and mode II fracture energies [PDF]
The present paper deals with the derivation of an interface model characterized by macroscopic fracture energies which are different in modes I and II, the macroscopic fracture energy being the total energy dissipated per unit of fracture area.

Physical simulation study on grouting water plugging of flexible isolation layer in coal seam mining
Deep coal seam mining often leads to water resource loss due to bedrock water entering the workings of the mine and is discharged adjacent to the mining area.
