Behavior of the Water-Cooled Polycrystalline Diamond Plate at Extreme Densities of Laser Radiation

Physics of Wave Phenomena, 2018
Resistance of a water-cooled polycrystalline diamond window is experimentally studied in the beam of the 10-kW fiber laser. The irradiated zones are 4 and 0.4 mm in diameter. It is shown that the transmitted beam is not distorted when the power density increases to 7 MW cm−2.

Chemico-Physical Causes of Radiation-Induced “Long Cell” Action Corrosion in Water Cooled Reactors

18th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering: Volume 5, 2010
In the previous overview papers [1, 2], the author has identified that ‘long cell action’ corrosion plays a pivotal role in practically all unresolved corrosion issues, irrespective of reactor types and operation. In trying to confirm the existence of radiation-induced ‘long-cell’ action (macro) corrosion cell in the primary cooling system of LWRs, the

Positron study of radiation embrittlement of steels used in water cooled, water moderated energy reactors

Applied Surface Science, 2006
Abstract Positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) lifetime study was applied in the evaluation of the microstructure parameters and degradation processes of nuclear reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steel surveillance specimens. Study was oriented to the material investigation of Russian WWER-1000 steels (15Kh2MNFAA and 12Kh2N2MAA) with higher Ni content

Analysis on the anti-corrosion of air radiator in water cooling system for high-power offshore wind turbine

2020 4th International Conference on HVDC (HVDC), 2020
Off-shore wind turbine is a new hot spot in the field of new energy. Due to the characteristics of high salt fog, high humidity and long sunshine time in the marine environment, the anti-corrosion performance of air radiator in the water cooling system of high-power wind turbine has higher requirements.

Thermal-Flow Coupling Simulation Analysis of Spiral Channel Water Cooled Radiator for High Power Thyristor

31st International Symposium on Ballistics, 2019
High power thyristor is the core switching device of pulse power source, which is an important component of electromagnetic launch (EML). So the reliability of high power thyristor directly affects the safe and reliable operation of EML. Semiconductor theoretical and experimental studies show that the electrical characteristics of thyristor are ...

Thermal And Structural Analyses Of A Synchrotron Radiation X-Ray Monochromator With Liquid Gallium And Water Cooling

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
The finite element method is used in the thermal and structural analyses of a 3-channel silicon-crystal monochromator in a wiggler x-ray beam. Liquid gallium and water are used as coolants. Liquid gallium is fed into the monochromator by an induction pump designed and built for this purpose at Argonne National Laboratory.

A non-water-cooled heat flux measurement system under concentrated solar radiation conditions

Solar Energy, 2002
This paper presents a brief description of a direct heat flux measurement system to measure the concentrated solar power delivered by a heliostat field onto the flat aperture of solar central receiver prototypes. The main advantages of this device are the low measurement uncertainty and the non-requirement of water-cooling.

A novel approach to calculate the loss of inverter power device and design of water-cooled radiator

2015 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2015
This paper puts forward an analytic method to calculate the power device loss of VFD (variable-frequency drive) and the temperature rise of water-cooled radiator. Detailed analysis and design for the loss of power devices, the temperature rise at inlets and outlets of water-cooled radiator, the temperature rise of convection heat transfer of cooling ...

Development of wall-stabilized arc of water-cooled vortex type with small caliber for high intense radiation

2016 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2016
The problem of an emergency large-scale illumination with the high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp is the lack of radiation intensity because of inappropriate energy balance. Some researchers have researched that the radiation power depended on the arc temperature increases with increasing the current.

EAF Heat Recovery from Incident Radiation on Water‐Cooled Panels Using a Thermophotovoltaic System: A Conceptual Study

steel research international, 2018
In this paper, a conceptual study and quantification of using a thermophotovoltaic system (TPV) to convert incident radiation on furnace panels to electrical energy is presented. In typical electric arc furnaces (EAF), a considerable amount of energy is wasted during the melting process, that is, steel enthalpy, off‐gas extraction, vessel cooling, slag
