Contribution to the thermodynamics of bromophenol blue in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1990
General relations among thermodynamic parameters characterizing dissociation equilibria with species H2A, HA- and A2- (H2A is a symbol for an electroneutral undissociated acid) in a two-phase extraction system have been derived. From the extraction measurements, the equilibrium distribution constant of electroneutral bromophenol blue between the ...

Facilitated ion transfer across the water/nitrobenzene interface Theory for single-scan voltammetry applied to a reversible system

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1982
The transfer of the metal cation across the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions facilitated by complex formation with a ligand at the interface was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The theory of single-scan voltammetry was derived which enables the complex stoichiometry (1:1, 1:2 or 1:3.

Solvent composition dependence of the voltage generation and the electric pulse formation in the water–nitrobenzene–water liquid membrane system

J. Chem. Soc., Faraday Trans., 1995
An experimental set-up consisting of a hollow glass tube and a beaker has been used to form a water–nitrobenzene–water three-phase system in a beaker. This system, with surfactant dissolved in one of the two aqueous phases and picric acid in the organic phase generated electric pulses.

Extraction of strontium from calcium by sodium dicarbollylcobaltate and 15-crown-5 in a two-phase water-nitrobenzene system

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2002
A rapid extraction of trace amounts of strontium from calcium with a nitrobenzene solution of sodium dicarbollylcobaltate (NaDCC) in the presence of 15-crown-5 and the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediamine-N,N,N",N"-tetra-acetic acid (Na4L) in the aqueous phase was developed. The separation factor a(Sr/Ca) was approximately 105.

Ionic product of water in the nitrobenzene phase of the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1991
General relations among thermodynamic parameters, which characterize the transfer of the ions H+ and OH- from the aqueous into nitrobenzene phase of the two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system and dissociation equilibria of H2O in both phases of this system, have been derived.

Extraction Distribution of 2-Nitroso-1-Naphthol in the Two-Phase Water-Nitrobenzene System

Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, 2005
Abstract General relations among the thermodynamic parameters, which characterize dissociation equilibria of an acid HA in both phases of a two-phase extraction system and ion transfers across the interface of this system, was formulated.

Thermodynamics of transfer of some univalent ions from the aqueous phase into the nitrobenzene phase of a two-phase water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1983
Abstract The transfer of Cs + and TMA + (tetramethylammonium) cations across the water-nitrobenzene interface was studied by the cyclic voltammetry method in the temperature range 5–65°C. With the use of simple thermodynamic cycles, the changes of the enthalpy and entropy of individual transfer of several univalent cations (Li + , Na + , H + , K + ,

Free energies of transfer of 1 : 1 electrolytes from water to nitrobenzene. Partition of ions in the water + nitrobenzene system

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1983
Free energies of solution of 1 : 1 electrolytes in nitrobenzen have been obtained from solubility measurements. Free energies of transfer for these electrolytes from water to nitrobenzene were obtained by combining their free energies of solution in the organic solvent and in water.

Contribution to the thermodynamics of complexes of alkali metal cations with dibenzo-18-crown-6 in water-nitrobenzene extraction system

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1984
The stability constants for the ML+ complex species, where M+ is an alkali metal cation and L is dibenzo-18-crown-6, in nitrobenzene saturated with water were calculated by employing published equilibrium data. The stability is found to increase in the cation order Li+ < Cs+ < Rb+ < K+ < Na+.

GC-MS and GC-FTIR identification of volatile radiolytic products in water-nitrobenzene-carbon tetrachloride two phase systems

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1993
Various volatile products formed in the γ-radiolysis of water-nitrobenzene-carbon tetrachloride two phase systems have been identified using GC-MS and GC-FTIR systems. The conditions for the separation of the products are described in detail. It was found that product formation is dependent on the composition of the systems.
