Thickness Swelling and Water Absorption Character of Laminate Floor

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Laminate floor coverings, with fiberboard in the middle layer, are hygroscopic which caused potential dimension instability. The paper tested thickness swelling (TS) and water absorption (WA) of 10 commercial laminate floors (LF) according to G/T 18102-2007 (GB/T) and LY/T 1611-2011(LY/T) and analyzed correlation between them.

Thickness swelling and water absorption of WPC after immersion in cold and boiling water

European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2013
Thickness swelling (TS), water absorption (WA) and edge swelling (ES) of 20 mm flat-pressed wood–plastic composites (WPC) panels with a wood flour (WF) content of 50 and 70 % manufactured using an industrial single-daylight press and samples of a high pressure laminate (HPL) compact panel were determined after immersion in cold water according to EN ...

Effect of production variables on bending properties, water absorption and thickness swelling of bagasse/plastic composite boards

Industrial Crops and Products, 2007
Abstract Composite boards of sugar cane bagasse particles and recycled high-density polyethylene were manufactured by means of a flat press process under laboratory conditions using a partial factorial experimental design (2K−1) to determine the effects of the process variables press temperature, pressing time, bagasse/plastic content and pressure on

Hybrid Composites Made from Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches/Jute Fibres: Water Absorption, Thickness Swelling and Density Behaviours

Journal of Polymers and the Environment, 2010
In this research, hybrid composite materials were prepared from combination of oil palm Empty fruit bunches (EFB) fibre and jute fibre as reinforcement, epoxy as polymer matrix. This study intended to investigate the effect of jute fiber hybridization and different layering pattern on the physical properties of oil palm EFB-Epoxy composites.
