Water Budget and Dissolved Load

1991
The mean effective precipitation in the 50-year period between 1921 and 1970 is 698 mm/a, the mean evaporation rate 48.6%. This results in an average annual runoff of 1278x 106 m3. The mean mineralization of the river waters is 322.6 ppm after the summer period and 221.4 ppm in late winter, 250 ppm being a reliable mean.

Heat and Water Budgets

1985
Net radiation at the upper boundary of the planet Earth amounts to a heat gain in the tropics and a loss in higher latitudes. Redistribution of energy over the continents takes place exclusively in the atmosphere, whereas in the realm of the vast tropical oceans both atmosphere and hydrosphere cooperate in the heat export to other parts of the globe ...

Water chemistry and nutrient budgets

1982
The study of the chemical limnology of Lake McIlwaine spans some twenty years, and although the chemical records are not continuous throughout this period it is nevertheless reasonable to say that the chemical limnology of the lake is well known. The first studies were conducted in the early 1960s as the lake entered a mesotrophic phase and subsequent ...
