Optimal model utilization of arable land with regard to food self-sufficiency and soil protection
The model of optimal utilization of arable land presents a new way of farming evaluation. The main map sheet consists of four parts, which logically follow each other.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Microbial regulation mechanisms of soil organic carbon sequestration by biochar application
The application of biochar to agricultural soils is a promising strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing carbon sequestration. However, the microbially mediated mechanisms by which biochar influences soil carbon cycling remain unclear.

Possibilities of some methods for risk assessment of arsenic load in soils
The paper deals with the possibilities of arsenic analysis in the soil. The aim is the selection and verification of the methods for analysis of As in the soil, which seem to be suitable for risk evaluation based on the increased As soil load. Economical

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
