“Virtual Water”: a modern means of resolving water distribution disputes between Israel and the Palestinians [PDF]
The notion of a water deficit in the Middle East is not a new occurrence. Many generations inhabiting the area have been fighting for control over rivers and lakes in order to gain a constant water supply, as well as an advantageous position over the ...

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Root protein interatomic network obtained from citrus seedlings subjected to water deficit : S08O03 [PDF]
Citrus Brazilian industry may be strongly affected by drought. Characterize rootstock behavior under different environmental conditions is crucial, since rootstocks may confer better adaption to environmental stresses.

Evaluation of Argentine wild sunflower biotypes for drought stress during reproductive stage [PDF]
As in several regions where sunflower production has moved to areas with limiting water availability, the search for water-stress tolerant genotypes has been intensified. Helianthus annuus ssp. annuus L.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

IntroductionReduced water content in the soil triggers physiological, biochemical, and morphological damage to plants, aggravated by nutritional deficiency. One possible strategy to mitigate this damage comprises the use of silicon (Si).

Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

The hydrology of a small fish pond at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi Experimental Fish Farm [PDF]
The monthly and seasonal water requirements of a small fish pond (0.068ha; maximum capacity of 613.83m super(3)) at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi Fish Farm (Benue, Nigeria) were determined during the period of February to August 1996.

Soil water deficits decrease the internal conductance to CO2 transfer but atmospheric water deficits do not [PDF]
The internal conductance to CO2 supply from substomatal cavities to sites of carboxylation poses a large limitation to photosynthesis. It is known that internal conductance is decreased by soil water deficits, but it is not known if it is affected by atmospheric water deficits (i.e. leaf to air vapour pressure deficit, VPD).
